Questions For Your Tuesday

Whether you are just joining the blog recently, or have been an avid supporter of my work for a long time, welcome. Please, take off your shoes, sink your toes into my black fuzzy rug, and rest your soul. Take a deep breath, friend. Think “goose-frah-bah” and Anger Management. How was your week? I prayed for ya! For God to richly bless you; that you would feel His presence in a tangible way.

So I’d like to ask you three questions this week. If there’s one thing you must know about me, it’s that I LOVE to ask questions. I actually won  the “Queen of Sheba Award” in High School. If you haven’t heard of Queen Sheba, you can check out her story in 1 Kings 10. If you haven’t read it, I will fill you in on this beaut of a story.

So, Solomon was a fantastic king. His father, David, was the king of Israel and then he became king. When Solomon was crowned king, God asked him what he would like; (Think Genie giving Aladdin a wish, only in real life.) Solomon choose wisdom. Solomon for the WIN! Because of this choice, God gave Solomon wealth, fame and prosperity. Ok, long tangent, but I had to give you some back story, friend. Everyone loves some juicy details, right?

So back to Sheba. She heard about how wise Solomon was, so she packed up her household and travelled from Sheba to Israel to visit Solomon. Deserts and camel smelliness are not my thing, but I give her credit for putting in the effort. So she takes Solomon a bunch of stunningly amazing presents and pours out her heart to the King- “nothing was too hard for him.” (verse 3) If you read the rest of the story, **here’s a spoiler** she was literally stunned by his wisdom and lavishes gifts upon gifts on him. I imagine those presents being equal to some Christian Louboutin or Chanel shoes. My mind tends to work in shoe terms 🙂

I say all of that to ask you about your questions of life, and the desires of your heart. Do you have likes or desires that you have had since you were a child? Possibly an avid interest in something as random as stamp collecting, or as common as reading. What drives and motivates you? What gets you excited about getting out of bed in the morning? (possibly slowly out of bed, but there’s not judgement my friend, it’s all love!)

Did you know that your passions and interests are not by accident? They are your purpose and calling. There are three fundamental questions that everyone will answer at some point in their lives (often at more than one time in their life).

  1. Who am I?
  2. Why am I here?
  3. Where am I going?

Those three pivotal questions will shape how you life your life. The answers to these questions are how you view the world are called a worldview. Mind blowing, I know. Perhaps you’ve heard of this little book called, The Purpose Driven Life, which has sold over 30 million copies. People are soul searching on a daily basis. Are you one of them?

As you are reflecting over this week, think about how you would answer those questions. If you would like to share your answers to those questions, feel free to send me an email! I love questions and chatting with people.
